Organization

Department Organization & Committees

The Department maintains the following committees by area of responsibility, working together on curriculum, teaching, admissions, industry-academia collaboration, and other department affairs.

Committee Main Responsibilities
Curriculum Committee Plans and develops the curriculum, and reviews transfer students' credit exemptions.
Faculty Review Committee Handles faculty hiring, promotion, sabbaticals, and matters involving breaches of duty.
Admissions Committee Manages admissions-related affairs and revises admissions competency rubrics.
Budget & Equipment Committee Responsible for securing and applying funding, and for equipment procurement and management.
Internship Committee Evaluates students' internship performance and provides appropriate assistance for issues encountered during internships.
Industry-Academia Collaboration Committee Supports industry exchange and plans industry-academia matchmaking activities.
Certification Promotion Committee Handles certification exam guidance and related national exam affairs.
Internationalization & International Student Affairs Committee Supports exchange with domestic and international scholars.
Computer Lab Management Committee Establishes rules for computer lab use and management.
Medical Engineering Lab Management Committee Manages designated laboratories.
Outreach Committee Manages the Department website and social media.
Sustainability & USR Promotion Committee Handles sustainability and University Social Responsibility (USR) matters.
Student Association Faculty Advisor Supports the development of the Student Association.
Academic Committee Reviews doctoral qualifying exams and oral defenses.
Mentor Program Advisor Assists with university-level meetings and freshman mentoring.
