Hello everyone! I am serving as the department's career mentor this year, offering guidance and support for your career planning and job-search preparation.

This is an era full of challenges. Students about to graduate face global inflation, declining corporate profits, and soaring housing and living costs. Global warming and extreme weather are ongoing realities, and geopolitical risk fills the world with uncertainty. The pandemic has not fully subsided, and the world continues to face new types of viral threats, while wage growth never seems to keep pace with soaring prices.

This is also an era full of opportunity. Wave after wave of technological innovation is transforming human life. Artificial intelligence is sweeping through biomedicine, manufacturing, finance, and other major fields; 5G, self-driving cars, and the metaverse are advancing; businesses are moving toward sustainable ESG practices, with net-zero carbon emissions becoming the benchmark. New technologies create new industries, bringing both immense challenges and countless opportunities.

As a career mentor, I encourage students to always stay humble, absorb new knowledge as much as possible, and stay informed about the latest industry trends and government policy priorities. Opportunity always favors those who are already prepared, and they are usually the ones with the sharpest instincts.

I also hope students will make the most of their time at school, using department and university resources to the fullest — enriching themselves in the classroom and sharpening their professional skills through capstone projects. Our curriculum spans information technology, biology, engineering, and medicine; solid learning in every course is enough to meet the needs of many in-demand industries.

I will do my best to answer your questions and hold seminars to help you prepare for the workplace or further study ahead, hoping you will benefit and find the position that suits you best. A teacher can only point the way — the rest is up to you; the standard you set for yourself will determine how far you go.
