Scholarships & Financial Aid

UndergraduateMedical Informatics and Artificial Intelligence Scholarship

Students from partner departments with a prior academic year's average score of 80 or above (inclusive), or ranking in the top 50% of their class, may apply for a scholarship of NT$50,000 to NT$400,000. Continued funding is reviewed each semester; recipients who fall below the standard may have funding suspended and can resume it once the standard is met again. Within three months of graduation, recipients must report for service at China Medical University Hospital; the required service period generally matches the number of years the scholarship was received, and internship time may count toward part of this period. Military service or enrollment in an information-related graduate program may qualify for an approved deferral; recipients who default must repay the scholarship received.

UndergraduateEnglish Excellence Scholarship

Awarded based on GSAT English subject scores and the department's reference subject scores, ranging from NT$40,000 to NT$240,000; renewal requires ranking in the top 3 or top 10% of the class each semester, and passing a CEFR B2-level English proficiency test before junior year.

UndergraduateAI Talent Cultivation Scholarship

Students with excellent mathematics scores and an APCS certification may receive a scholarship of NT$100,000 to NT$200,000, with priority admission to the Elite Programming Class; tuition for continuing into the master's or doctoral program is charged at the same rate as national universities.

UndergraduateEntrance-Score Excellence / Merit Scholarship

The “Entrance-Score Excellence Award” is tiered by choice ranking and entrance score, worth up to NT$3.6 million; the “Entrance-Score Merit Award” provides NT$80,000 (limited to specific admission pathways, requiring a top-tier English score and at least an average score in every subject).

Master's ProgramGraduate New-Student Scholarship

The top-ranked admitted student who forgoes a national university offer to enroll in this university's master's program receives a full tuition, fee, and housing waiver for two years; students who were otherwise admitted to a national university are charged tuition at the same rate as National Taiwan University; undergraduate students of this university who advance directly into the accelerated master's program and rank in the top 70% of their class are charged tuition at the national-university rate, while others receive an NT$10,000 scholarship.

Doctoral ProgramGraduate New-Student Scholarship

Graduating master's students of this university who proceed directly into or are admitted to this university's doctoral program are charged tuition at the National Taiwan University rate for three years (see the direct-to-PhD pathway of the “Medical Device Technology Industry Track, Doctoral Program (Industry-Academia Program)” for details; recipients also receive an annual NT$200,000 Ministry of Education scholarship, funded for 5 years total).

GeneralProvisions

• Only one of the above scholarships may be received.
• Renewal eligibility: undergraduate students must rank in the top 3 or top 10% of their class; graduate students must rank in the top 10%.
• Scholarship eligibility is forfeited for deferred enrollment, leave of absence, withdrawal, or departmental/institutional transfer.
• The application procedure must be completed within one month after the start of the semester.
