Asia University invests 7.5 billion NTD in constructing the Asia University Fengfu Health Park in Fengyuan, marking the groundbreaking ceremony held on the 6th. Mayor Hsiu-Yen Lu of Taichung City expressed gratitude for Asia University's significant investment, stating that this construction project brings "eight major benefits" to the city. Asia University Founder Chang-Hai Tsai pointed out that by constructing hospitals, long-term care facilities, and public daycare centers in the health park, it provides research and development opportunities for Asia University students and faculty in the health industry, aiming to create 2,000 job opportunities and striving for completion and operation by 2026.

Mayor Hsiu-Yen Lu stated in her address that the construction of the Fengfu Health Park brings "eight major benefits." One of these benefits is that the Fengfu project was originally a Type A maintenance depot for the military, and in 2011, the Taichung City Government acquired the land. However, the commercialization process has been challenging, with four previous mayors attempting various orientations from a financial industrial park, biotechnology industrial park, sports industry park, and then adjusting to a health industry park under her tenure based on industrial development trends and public needs. Finally, with Asia University's significant investment, the original investment amount of 5.5 billion NTD was increased to 7.5 billion NTD by Founder Tsai due to the rise in raw material costs, making it a win for Taichung City.

Mayor Hsiu-Yen Lu pointed out that another benefit is the construction of long-term care institutions in response to the healthcare needs of the elderly. This is a key development project of the government's health policy. The third benefit is that after the establishment of the Fengyuan Hospital affiliated with Asia University, it will collaborate with relevant companies to provide convenient medical services for the public, addressing the shortage of medical services in the mountainous area. The fourth benefit is that the daycare building will create a nurturing environment for children, ensuring care for all ages in the mountainous areas.

Mayor Hsiu-Yen Lu mentioned the fifth benefit: in the past, people in Fengyuan used to ask her, "Why doesn't Fengyuan have a university?" Now, the dream has finally come true, with Asia University bringing its resources to Fengyuan, including expanding its Continuing Education Center; fostering more high-level talents and supporting new startup teams to drive the local medical industry's development; The seventh benefit harnesses the effect of "building nests to attract phoenixes," attracting related businesses to settle in, thereby enhancing the living functions of the mountain city. Lastly, with the university and industries arriving, education and employment opportunities will increase, leading to the influx of high-quality, high-level residents.

Founder Chang-Hai Tsai expressed profound gratitude to the Taichung City Government for promoting public health policies through private initiatives. Asia University feels honored and will fulfill its corporate social responsibility by constructing a rich health park. In addition to the resources provided by Asia University and its affiliated hospitals, cooperation with China Medical University Hospital will also be robust, effectively making it a "buy one, get two" situation and ensuring the project's success. Asia University, celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year and entering its 10th year since its establishment, has already made it to world university rankings. In the latest Asia University Rankings by the Times Higher Education(THE), Asia University ranks third among private universities in Taiwan and first among private universities in non-medical fields. It is believed that Asia University will continue to excel in teaching and industry-academia research.

Founder Tsai pointed out that Asia University Hospital was established in Wufeng eight years ago, providing medical center-level services for residents in Wufeng, Dali, and Taiping areas. The China Medical University- Asia University System (CMU-AU System) consists of 26 medical institutions and derivative enterprises, supporting the Fengyuan Hospital to address the gap in medical and long-term care. After operation, it will create 2,000 job opportunities, with a guaranteed annual salary of over 800,000 NTD for nurses. Asia University paves the way for students' employment; students' passing rate in national examinations for medical and care professions exceeds the national average every year, enabling them to "graduate and find employment," especially with the Asia University Board of Directors launching the "average standard scholarship" of 20,000 NTD per year, with lower tuition fees than public universities.

President Jeffrey J.P. Tsai of Asia University, stated that according to the plan, the park will construct the Asia University Hospital with 528 beds, a comprehensive long-term care building with 200 beds, and a public daycare facility with 30 places, implementing the concept of "integrated medical and care" from acute and critical care to long-term care. It will provide a "one-stop" service for medical care, long-term care, industry-academia collaboration, biotechnology industry, internship education, and employment!

President Tsai further mentioned that the future development of the two affiliated hospitals of Asia University will focus on emergency and critical care, precision medicine, stem cell immunotherapy, regenerative medicine, and AI smart healthcare. Through the introduction of smart medical equipment, more smart medical solutions will enter clinical applications, assisting medical diagnosis and decision-making, significantly improving quality and efficiency. Currently, collaborations with world-class academic and industrial entities such as Harvard University, Stanford University, and AMD, a leading semiconductor company, are ongoing. It is hoped that Asia University's AI program will become a cradle for nurturing talents in the "smart medical and health industry"!

Director Yung-Hsin Hsu of the Asia University Hospital pointed out that after the completion of the Fengfu Health Park, the overall medical care coverage will include Fengyuan, Shengang, Tanzih, Houli, Daya, Shigang, Dongshi, and other mountainous areas. Through convenient transportation networks, the service scope will extend to Miaoli County townships with relatively scarce medical resources, relieving people of travel burdens. The total service population is expected to exceed 600,000, providing the best medical care with the mission of "urgent care, saving lives, saving hearts, saving lives."
