President Jeffrey J.P. Tsai of Asia University Taiwan values international exchanges under the New Southbound Policy. He led a delegation including Jen-Ho Ou, Director of the Office of International Affairs; Charles C.N. Wang, Director of the Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration; and Hsueh-Ting Chu, Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, to visit universities and enterprises in Vietnam. During the visit, they engaged in academic exchanges with Vietnam National University HCM, University of Economics and Law (VNU HCM-UEL), the University of Economics and Finance (UEF), and FPT University. They also visited the headquarters of Yuanta Securities in Ho Chi Minh City and the Taiwanese-owned DDK Group bicycle pad factory, laying a foundation for future academic and industrial exchanges.
The Vietnam National University HCM University of Economics and Law in Ho Chi Minh City was represented by Vice President Le Vu Nam, along with Le Van Hinh, Head of the Department of Cooperation and Development, and Nguyen Vinh Khuong, Dean of the School of Information Management. President Tsai introduced Asia University, emphasizing its international rankings and the strengths of various faculties, including AI, Big Data, Smart Finance, and Semiconductors. He highlighted Taiwan's rapid technological development and Asia University's abundant resources and research capabilities, offering a conducive learning environment for Vietnamese students. He encouraged faculty and students to participate in exchange programs at Asia University. The two sides discussed joint degree programs, research exchanges, and scholar visits, aiming to establish a long-term and close cooperation.
FPT University, supported by Vietnam's tech giant FPT Group, is a leader in the field of digital transformation, actively engaged in the research and application of cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Big Data, and IoT. The collaboration between Asia University and FPT University focuses on semiconductors and financial technology, with the expectation that academic exchanges and talent cultivation will inject new momentum into industrial development.

The University of Economics and Finance in Ho Chi Minh City, a leader in the field of economics in Vietnam, has long been dedicated to cultivating high-quality economic management talents. The two sides signed an academic cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) and conducted in-depth discussions on academic research, faculty and student exchanges, and curriculum cooperation, reaching several consensuses.
The visit also included strengthening connections with Vietnamese industries. The delegation visited the headquarters of Yuanta Securities in Ho Chi Minh City and exchanged views on Vietnam's securities industry with Jen-Kai Chao, Chairman and CFO of Yuanta Securities Vietnam, enhancing the understanding of the Vietnamese market among Asia University's faculty. Currently, Asia University and Yuanta Securities have collaborated to establish the "International Industry Talent Education Master Program in Financial Technology," through which they jointly cultivate and retain outstanding talents. In the future, Asia University will continue to work with Yuanta Securities to cultivate talents for the financial industry.
Additionally, President Tsai hosted a banquet to express gratitude to the Taiwanese Business Association and the Vietnamese academic community for their assistance during the visit. Chairman of DDK Group and President of the Taiwanese Business Association in Vietnam, Richard Tsai, expressed admiration for Asia University's efforts in talent cultivation, which he believes will benefit the development of Taiwanese businesses in Vietnam.
President Tsai commented, "Vietnam is a rising star in the ASEAN region, with deep-rooted economic and cultural ties with Taiwan. This visit not only strengthened Asia University's partnerships with top Vietnamese universities but also provided valuable international exchange opportunities for our faculty and students. In the future, Asia University will continue to deepen its presence in the Vietnamese market and contribute to higher education exchanges."
