In the Taiwan Corning Display Glass Company session of the hackathon, Asia University's Department of Interior Design secured 1 silver, 1 bronze, and 2 honorable mentions.

  Asia University's Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration organized the '2023 Sustainability Hackathon,' drawing participation from 35 universities and 1,281 students, forming 337 teams to tackle corporate challenges. The competition offered a total prize pool exceeding 600,000 NT dollars. In the final results, the Department of Interior Design, Psychology, and Business Administration from Asia University collectively secured 3 silver, 4 bronze, and 11 honorable mention awards, totaling 18 accolades, showcasing fruitful outcomes.

  Charles C.N. Wang, dean of the Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration at Asia University, stated that this year marks the fourth consecutive year of the hackathon, co-organized by eight universities including Asia University, China Medical University, Feng Chia University, Dayeh University, Tunghai University, Providence University, Ling Tung University, and Chung Shan Medical University. The event aimed to establish a "Resilient Smart Innovation Collaboration Platform for Sustainable Generations." With themes revolving around sustainability, intelligence, innovation, and resilience, the competition invited corporate propositions to optimize future industry operations, service innovation, and outline strategic blueprints for the post-pandemic era's smart living. Students from universities nationwide participated, fostering intense competition and sparking numerous creative ideas, evolving into an incubation platform for innovative ideation.

Asia University's student teams secured 3 silver, 4 bronze, and 11 honorable mention awards, totaling 18 accolades, with notable achievements in various corporate themes:

1. Corning Display's proposition on "Green Exhibition Design," secured by the Department of Interior Design with 1 silver, 1 bronze, and 2 honorable mentions.

2. Sz Jie Li Enterprise aimed to establish a sustainable brand image, which was accomplished by student teams from the Departments of Psychology and Business Administration, earning 1 silver and 2 honorable mentions.

3. Calmport Healthy Life's proposition on "Precision Medicine Promotion and Business Models."

4. SYSTEX Corporation's proposition on "Assisting Succession and Upgrading of Second-Generation Traditional Industry from the Perspective of Commercial Software Companies," secured by the Departments of Business Administration and Psychology with 1 silver, 1 bronze, and 3 honorable mentions.

5. New Green Power's aim to "Enhance Local Symbiotic Models in the Optoelectronics Industry."

6. Smart Ageing Tech’s focus on "Enhancing Quality of Home Care through Smart Technology," secured by the Departments of Business Administration, Interior Design, and Psychology with 1 bronze and 2 honorable mentions.

  Jia-Nian Zheng, Asia University's Deputy Director of Industry Academia Collaboration, noted the participation of 16 corporations in the event, with exceptional performances by Asia University students, capturing the attention of six participating companies. The expectation is to foster innovative thinking among students towards enterprises, driving industry and economic growth through the hackathon.

  Jeng Liu, Vice President of Tunghai University, expressed the pressure of hosting the 2024 Hackathon after Asia University, aiming to continue the legacy of past achievements, bridging the gap between enterprises and students during the competition. Through collaboration among the eight universities in central Taiwan in this competition, they adopt a collaborative approach to enhance the synergy of academia-industry research, bolster local business resources, and achieve a three-way win among the universities, businesses, and students.
