Resources

In our Department, we have many laboratories including Computational Proteomics Laboratory (H219), Computational Biology Teaching Laboratory (H406), Biomedical Sensor Laboratory (H503), Bioinformatics Research Laboratory (HB72), Systems Biology Laboratory (H636), National Health Insurance Database Laboratory (HB72), Bionic Computing Laboratory (HB72), Intelligent Computing Laboratory (HB72), Biomedical Signal Processing Laboratory (HB72), and Semantic Biomedical Computing Research Center (HB84, college level). The related software and hardware includes Integration Platform for High-Level Biomedical Electronics, Accelrys Discovery Studio, statistic software like SAS, SPSS, MATLAB, and Windows Operation System, Database Software, drawing software, and internet operation system. The Information Sector in the school also has a remote teaching center and many computer classrooms for providing teaching assistance.

Center for Semantic Biomedical Computing (HB84)

The Center for Semantic Biomedical Computing (CSBC)was established in 2009.

As the first center dedicated to semantic biomedical computing, CSBC has been developing semantic computing technologies for different kinds of computational content including biomedical image, literature, data, process and system with a unique approach that allows the investigator to communicate with content in natural language whose scope is much wider than that can be provided by SQL and allows investigators to work collaboratively.

Computational Proteomics Laboratory (H219)

In responding to the fast development of proteomics, we train our students to have the ability to utilize and analyze the database of proteomics. The lab now offers searches for proteomics database, integration of protein interaction database and establishment of value-added database, analysis of protein interaction network, confirmation of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis of proteins, and analysis of protein structure.

Computational Biology Teaching Laboratory (H406)

In responding to the fast development of bio-information, we train our students to have solid basis of bio-information theory. The lab now provides searches for bio-information and the application of bio-information tools.

Biomedical Sensor Laboratory (H503)

In responding to the practical application of biomedical sensor and biomedical laboratory, we train the students to have the practical experiences in this field. Currently, the lab has an SPR biomedical sensor detection platform, which can be applied to teaching and research.

Bioinformatics Research Laboratory (I535)

In responding to the fast development of disease-related genomics, we train our students to have the ability to utilize and analyze the bio genomics database. The major usage is to take advantage of cluster computer equipment to support the high-speed computing for bio-information and provide storage space for biomedical information with disk array.

Systems Biology Laboratory(I636)

In responding to the development of systems biology, we train the students to have the ability to analyze the operation mechanism of bio-cells. The lab provides the professors with the facilities for teaching and research and the students with the special software for research.

National Health Insurance Database Laboratory (HB72)

In responding to the accumulative of national health insurance data, data mining method for massive amount of data has been broadly applied to the analysis of this field. The result can be the clue for clinical medicine and basic medicine. The lab trains the students to have the ability of using national health insurance database to conduct statistically analysis and data mining.

Bionic Computing Laboratory (HB72)

In responding to the elevation of high-speed calculation, the bionic derived computing which imitates the organism becomes an effective algorithm that can be realized and has been applied to all kinds of fields. The lab trains the students to have the ability to develop and utilize bionic computing software.

Intelligent Computing Laboratory (HB72)

In responding to the development of cloud computing, we research on portable intelligent algorithm which can solve the problems in biomedicine effectively and fast. The lab trains the students to have the ability to establish cloud intelligent computing system.

Biomedical Signal Processing Laboratory (HB72)

In responding to the practical application of biomedical signal processing, we train our student to have the practical experiences in this field. Now, the lab provides a biomedical signal processing platform, which can be used in teaching and research.
